The heat wave in Europe broke all time records by a considerable amount -- check it out. There are isolated locations where temperature records have not been broken as in the midwest dust bowl but the global trend and number of high temperature records is well documented. Cold as always killed more people than heat but the differential has been steadily declining and within the near term heat will be a greater source of mortality. It already is when you include the increased risk from other causes due to heat induced weakness. And I go to some lengths to document everything I post and reject claims what is say is "over the top".
