Good points but one important clarification: methane is 86 times as potent as CO2 when compared over 20 years, a critical period if the world is to limit warming consistent with the Paris goals. The difference is due to its shorter atmospheric lifetime, such that when compared over 100 years much of the methane emitted today will be gone from the atmosphere.
